Programme preference information for 2010 entry

18 Dec 2009

Dear NETFS destined 5th Year,

Decile information for ranking programme preferences

The score range for applications to NETFS for 2010 entry was 54-93 with the majority of scores at the top end. In order to assist you in listing your programme preferences you should find your decile and sum the number of people with and above you. This will give you the number of programmes you should rank, i.e. if you scored 77 you should rank 262 programmes

 Preference ranking deadline

The NETFS deadline for submitting your programme preferences is midnight on the 24th January 2010. Please give yourself plenty of time to get your preferences ranked before this deadline as the School has no sympathy with people who miss advertised deadlines without credible and evidenced reasons. If you fail to submit an appropriate number of preferences or no preferences at all you will be automatically allocated a programme.

 F1 only programmes

You will see that there are number of programmes which have no F2. This is because the School has an imbalance between the years. We expect to allocate the second year before August 2010 as follows: there will be a number of students who fail finals, defer, start on less than full-time training or choose not to enter the Programme. We will have this information by July 2010 when we decouple the second years of those programmes and offer them by application score rank to the people with these F1 only programmes (subject to the programme being balanced across both years)

The NETFS Open Day is to be held on Wednesday 13th January 2010. Please note this is the only Open Day event we are to host next year so for those students who are unable to attend, we will have the NHS Trust presentations loaded on to this website shortly after the event.

Yours sincerely

John Masih
